Merry Christmas!!!

The tree!

Some last minute shopping in the Target catalog.
We had a sheep theme this Christmas and here is Titus with his herd.Christmas Eve Titus sported his tux for probably the last time (the shirt is getting pretty snug!) and he wore his blue tennis shoes too for the candlelight service at church. We took a flashlight and Titus enjoyed trying to light his candle with the flashlight. Pretty smart. No we didn't let him really light the candle.
Titus was most interested in this package under the tree--it contained Mr. T's new water dish. Titus kept going back for it, but we managed to keep it wrapped til Christmas morning. Mr. T was kind enough to let Titus open it for him and then Titus got in the bowl.

Above is Titus opening his stocking Christmas morning. Helping Daddy open his golf package.
A couple of new books! Then off to Grandma's house for:
More presents--construction goodies!
Can you find Titus in the above picture?

Grandpa's Famous Fried Turkey.

Some outside play time...
It's sad when kids are too busy texting to take a picture with their cousins. It was a great Christmas! We enjoyed seeing both sets of Grandparents and Titus really enjoyed himself. We are thankful for our family and mostly for Jesus, who humbled himself and came to earth as a baby to save us from our sins.

Shepherds Keeping Watch

No, Titus didn't get another haircut. This picture is from back in May. We have tried to re-create it by the Christmas tree, but Titus is too quick for us. And he isn't much for having a blanket on his head for pictures. :) Nonetheless, here's our little shepherd with his herd.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:8-14

Santa's Helper

The Shepherd Press Blog has a great article on Santa. Check it out here. Here's a sneak peak for you:
Teach your children that One more wonderful than Santa loves them and has given them parents to teach them about Christ and true riches. Don't confuse your children by helping a mythical visitor. Tell them that you love them because Christ has loved you. Tell them that your God has given you a rich blessing - your children. Let them know that the gifts they receive are expressions of your love to them. Adorn your children at Christmas. Adorn your children on August 3rd as well, and every other day. Let them know that you are God's helper to bring them into relationship with Him. Let your children know that you are Christ's helper. Tell your children what true riches are. In addition to the gifts that you wrap, adorn your children with gifts that are more valuable than silver and gold. Show them the excellence of being Christ's helper.

More Pics!

Here are some pics to get you up to date. Christmas parties... More parties... You know how it is. :) Merry Christmas!

Merry's birthday!
I love these kid pictures where you can hardly get the kids to sit still long enough for a picture. Titus and Cadence are obviously distracted! Thanks Merry for the great pictures!

Here's Titus working on the computer. He loves, loves, loves to work on the keyboard--so we caved in and let him play on our old laptop. He had a blast! Maybe we'll wrap it up and put it under the tree!

Christmas Cookies and Tennis Shoes

Here we are Saturday night at the Dayspring Christmas Party! It was a lot of fun and Titus and I got to be "2" in the 12 Days of Christmas (hence the new blog background)! If you don't know what that means, we number off and sing the song--when your number comes up, you have to stand up and sing. Titus loved it! David got to be part of the three french hens, which is also a fun manly group to be in--somehow the guys always shout that one out. Titus also loved the Christmas cookies--I actually don't remember him eating much else besides maybe some grapes. Oh well--tis the season, right? We got him in his suit from Michael and Danna's wedding too--I just took the hem out of the pants and all was well. Except for the shoes--I couldn't squeeze his little foot into his black shoes... So we went with what fit. What do you think? A new fashion statement? Yes, they are blue--but at least his socks are black. And do you know how hard it is to find black dress socks for a one year old?

Thanksgiving and Christmas

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We enjoyed seeing family and friends. Titus especially enjoyed seeing Brooklynn and meeting Nate! Thanks to all who let us invade their homes and also to our sweet neighbors for taking such great care of Mr. T for us! Titus did SUPER on the plane rides and was on his best behavior! Here are some pictures from the trip and also of us getting our tree up!
