This Week's Playdate!

This week's playdate was a glass bottom boat tour! We all had a great time. Titus saw lots of exciting new things, including:
*On the boat:
*A spotted gar
*Turtles with algae growing on their backs (they don't try to remove it because it helps them to blend in with their environment)
*Lily pads! Lots of them!
*birds, lots of fish, natural springs bubbling at the bottom of the lake
*Also at the aquarium: ghost shrimp, blind salamanders, baby turtles, a super giant dark grey catfish
We had a picnic and David was able to make it for the boat ride and lunch. :)

Birthday memories! Two years old!

This was a trial run with Titus on his actual birthday. We wanted him to get practice blowing out his candles before his party.
Found these and wanted to post. :) Looks like two candles on those cakes!

(And you gotta love the wallpaper! I wonder what Titus will say about his birthday pictures when he's all grown up! And that chair to the left of David... It's in our house. The couch too, but it's re-covered...)

Birthday Month

It's birthday month around here. (Hence the cupcake background!) I was the first to get to celebrate. David and Titus took me out to a fancy dinner and both of them were on their best behavior. :) They also got me this cool painting!
David even got me a birthday cake.
Here's Titus playing in these little pop-up toys that a family at church gave us. Titus is really enjoying them and is currently refusing to nap because he wants to keep playing in them...

Chooo Chooo!!!

We had a fun week here! A birthday party for ladies only and Titus and Dad time Tuesday night. David was certainly a super-Dad and even got Titus to bed before I made it home! Woohoo!
Wednesday night Jeni and Sheridan came for a visit! We had a great time and the kids really hit it off. We went to the pool and had lots of play time around the house.

Today we went to the park and for a train ride. Man was Titus dirty when we left! It was very hot, but he loved the train and seeing his friends there. AND he had his first snow cone! I will have to get a video of him saying "chooo chooo" to post later.
Some new words:
"Chooo choooo" (as in train)
"sceeze" (Squeeze, as in hug)
"Scuse you" (as in "excuse me" after sneezes or burps...)
"Doe" door
Ball
"dee!" is dip (he points his finger in a dipping motion!)
That's all I can think of for now. I really need to write these things down as he says them. He also said "Sher-dan" (sort of) and "pa" when talking about Grandpa--but he won't say those words consistently. He is also saying "Ba" and points to the light, but I haven't figured that one out yet. I think it also means bread... Another big note, he is learning to spit out his toothpaste when he brushes teeth--mostly he just makes an emphatic "paa" sound. And "She" for sheep....
Other words he's been saying for a while now:
"Eeze" please
"eeze" cheese (gotta use the context clues here)
"uice" juice
"me" mine
"shoes!"

What about shoes? Does he need his shoes for nap time?

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone had a great 4th. We had fun with a visit from Grandma and Grandpa early in the week, VBS and fireworks on Sunday evening. Here are a few highlights. Trying on Dad's goggles.
